Caitlin Tharaldson, LICSW

Caitlin is a passionate Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and founded Virta Therapy Collective after an extensive history working in mental health. She has experience working in clinical leadership at a residential trauma treatment center, in an outpatient practice, at a domestic violence shelter, as a clinical director in a nature based therapeutic program, and in community mental health. She received both her bachelors and masters from the University of Minnesota.

Caitlin provides a supportive and open environment to connect with individuals and to create space for deeper work, particularly around trauma, anxiety, depression, identity work, and life transitions.  Caitlin's greatest strength is her warmth and connecting on a deeply relational level with all individuals, she is truly invested in seeing all parts of a person and absolutely supports body acceptance.  She enjoys working with adults 18+ and specializes in treating trauma.  She also greatly values her role as a clinical supervisor.  

Caitlin is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills, trauma informed yoga, and can occasionally utilize aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She often interweaves these modalities to support the most effective approach for the individual. Caitlin also has extensive training in interpersonal neurobiology.

During her free time, Caitlin enjoys spending as much time as she can outside being active with family and friends. Her dog, Lou, comes with her on any adventure including hiking and paddle boarding.  Caitlin also loves to make art, has a consistent mindfulness practice, and being active in nature is incredibly important to her.
